Testing Out
PLEASE SEE YOUR COUNSELOR WITH ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT TESTING OUT
Public Act 335, Section 1297B, of the State Code requires that any high school student be offered the opportunity to “test out” of any course offered by his high school.
To “test out” students must exhibit mastery of the course by receiving a 77% or higher on a comprehensive, four hour exam. Exams are given on a set day determined by the administrators and department heads in the Spring.
Registration:
The test out registration form must be completed online through the PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal. Submissions will be accepted starting March 4th, 2022 and will close on April 4th, 2022. Applications will be marked as "approved" and no action is required from parents after submitting the form.
· Log into PowerSchool at ps.troy.k12.mi.us (web version only)
· Click the Icon Forms from the Left Menu
· Open the form Waiving a Math Course through Testing Out and complete the required fields
FYI, this is the same procedure for NON Math test out too. There will also be a form to request any non Math class test out. No paper copies, it must be done online.
